Jamie (story)

I was 4 years old and Jamie, my little sister, was only 2. She had a cyst on the back of her ear which needed to be removed, a very simple procedure, so we thought. Jamie went in for surgery and came out with a bigger problem than she had before, but the doctors assured my parents it would go away. The next day we got a call from another doctor and my parents had to rush Jamie to the hospital, the problem never went away.

                

While Jamie was having her cyst removed the doctor was in a rush, cut a wrong nerve and partially paralyzed the right side of Jamie's face. After suing the doctor, Jamie and my parents still weren't satisfied. So she was put through electro-shock therapy and other types of tests trying to fix something that was potentially unfixable. And would cause her emotional pain throughout her life.

                

For years Jamie struggled with this paralyzation, doubting her beauty because people would point it out in the worst ways possible. Jamie is now 16 years  old, and about to start her junior year at Allen Park High School. Being paralyzed is one of her greatest insecurities, and most likely always will be. She doesn't  let people tell her she isn't pretty or she's weird though, because of one flaw. But if you ask me that isn't even one flaw, it's one step closer to perfection.
